The docile, loving nature of the Bernese Mountain dog combined with the intelligent hypoallergenic poodle results in a healthy, handsome, smart, gentle, and low-shedding puppy. They’re known for their loving gentle personality and wavy and curly coats. They can have many sizes and different hair colors, including gold, black, red, cream, white, and tricolor.

The breed started appearing in 2003. Recognized variations include the F1B 25% Bernese and 75% poodle to increase the reliability of an allergy-friendly coat., the Teddy Bear Doodle pup with two Bernedoodle parents, the Golden Mountain Doodle, a gorgeous hybrid breed of a poodle, Bernese mountain dog, and golden retriever, and the Australian Bernedoodle which incorporates Labradoodle bloodlines.

  • Can sometimes be stubborn, especially during the puppy phase. While they learn commands quickly, some will resist training at first, so be consistent.

  • Moderate exercise (smaller pups may do well in an apartment, full-sized Bernedoodles need room to roam and like to hang out in a fenced-in yard)
  • Human companionship. They crave indoor time with their masters and may get lonely if left alone for long periods.
